C is for Criminal

I have been a fan of the Housewives franchise on Bravo from day one.  I know all about Big Papa.....Closing your legs to married men.....drinking Champs every chance you get.....and Turtle Time.  But this Sunday, something made me feel a little disappointed in myself for watching.   Teresa and the Real Housewives of New Jersey.  I have had enough with a grown ass woman in complete denial, who has no problem lying to everyone.

I have been back and forth when it comes to one of the most notorious Housewives in franchise history, Teresa Guidice.  When she flips tables, I feel her frustration with those around her. When she decorates for Christmas, it makes me want to get a 15 foot Christmas Tree.  When she tells the world it "scheves" her out to live in a house someone else owned, I don't  judge her.

But this whole thing....The other C word (meaning Criminal).....is just too far.  I can't take the denial, and I hate myself for even watching the show at this point.  Whether she likes it or not, Teresa is a criminal.  She spent 12 months, locked up, behind bars, serving her sentence.  Teresa was in a Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut.  That is real.  That is the truth.

To sit there, and, still to this day, try to make people believe it was a mistake and she didn't deserve what happened to her, and, (What I think is the biggest insult to viewers of all) to still say she had no idea what was going on, is dispicable.

Teresa could have come out of prison and showed us her real side.  I don't know about you, but I would have been pissed if my husband got me in as much trouble as she claims her husband did to her.  I honestly don't know many women who would say, oh well.

This was Teresa's opportunity to be a real person and show real emotions.  Instead, she looks like a fool.

Own what you did, Own what happened to you.  And set an example for your children.

But please, stop insulting us with this other C word crap.  I can't take it.  Everytime she says it, I feel like she is slapping us all in the face.  If you don't want the world to know about your dirty laundry, don't be on a Reality TV show.

I hope that while fans are still watching RHONJ, we are learning from what Teresa went through.  I think the biggest lesson is, what you do in life has consiquences and you CANNOT get away with things.  The truth always catches up, so be someone your parent's and your kid's can be proud of.  Know what is going on in your house.  Whether it is the finances, or business deals, especially if your name is on it.  Don't take things for granted.  Hard work is what gets you ahead in life.  Trying to get away with things all the time is not going to bring you happiness.

Now I know I will continue to watch, I feel like I have gotten this far I can't quit now.  But if by some chance Teresa is reading this right now, please think about your position as a public figure.  Think about how you would like your daughter's to be treated by a man, and know that you are worth a lot more than you I feel you think you are.

Every Housewife Needs A Little Drama

Just finished watching the season finale of Atlanta.  When did these ladies get so boring?  The only drama we had was Kenya telling anyone who would listen, that the Feds showed up at Kandi and Cynthia's house to look for Apollo's property.  This is what I don't understand, even if Phaedra tipped the Feds off, what kind of friends would actually keep your husband's, who is going to prison, stuff at their house?  What exactly is in it for them?  And did they not think someone important might be watching the show and figure it out?  Kandi and Todd didn't hide the fact that they had things of Apollo's in their garage.  I really can't understand this at all.  And if we are honest, if you were Phaedra, wouldn't you tip off the Feds too, or at least have someone else call?  I know I would.  If I were Phaedra, I think I would be most hurt by Kandi.  At one point, they were so close, if that was my friend I would be crushed.

Peter is about the most annoying person in the world anyway.  I have a feeling he just did this to keep his name in the mix.  I always feel sorry for Cynthia.  I had a chance to interview her for my radio show, and she is just as fabulous in real life as we see on TV.  I asked her straight out, why are you with Peter and she really didn't have an answer.  I, like most people, want to see her with her baby daddy Leon Robinson, and she didn't disagree with me on that either.  Just a fun fact, did you know Leon was in the music video for Madonna's "Like A Prayer"  It's true!

Bravo is promising fireworks for the reunion, and I hope Andy and the gang don't let us down.  Although, judging from the previews, it is looking good!

Every Housewife Needs a Miniature Horse.

Whether or not she just pulls the strings on the sidelines, I think we can all agree that Lisa Vanderpump is one of our favorite housewives.  It seems like everything she does is magical, even when she is causing drama in other people's life.  She does it in a way that you almost feel like you have to apologize to her, as we have seen with the recent exchange between Lisa and Eileen.  With her pink pumps, and her closet that is so massive it even has a desk in it, everything in her life is over the top and fabulous.  So why should the pets she has in her life be ordinary?   Lisa really shows us what life can be like, we just have to remember to treat ourselves.

The lesson that treating yourself needs to be a priority was crystal clear the day she set out to surprise her husband with a mini-horse for his 70th birthday.  Not only did she jump on her friend's private jet, she even brought Lisa Rinna along for the adventure. (Honestly, who would have said no to that.  NO ONE, that is who)  How many of us even have a friend with a private jet??  The 2 landed in Ohio with the intent of picking up the horse and bringing it straight back to Beverly Hills.  Who could imagine a better road trip?  I know I couldn't.

Lisa lives a life we all dream about, all while telling us hard work is all it takes to live that dream.  And that is part of her charm.  It doesn't hurt that she is incredible sexy too.

So lesson learned from Lisa Vanderpump, Go for what you want, don't let people tell you that what you want is crazy, and by all means, Treat yourself, because you deserve the best in life!

Every Housewife Needs A Tagline

When you first start watching any of the Housewives, you quickly learn, the best part is the opening sequence where each lady states their Tagline.  It pretty much sets the scene for the entire season.  A tagline can make or break you.  It is not to be taken lightly.

"I'm the OG of the OC"  "Haters gonna hate.  But I just Love Love Love"  And my personal favorite.  "Don't come for me, Unless I twirl for you"

So that got me thinking, what would mine be?  It is such a hard decision.  There are many questions you need to ask yourself.  Do I keep it local, just in case the Albuquerque franchise comes calling?  Do I make it funny?  Or, do I just say something corny?  Here is what I came up with so far.....

"People ask me red or green, But I answer Diamonds every time"

"I might have a Honeybear at home,  But that doesn't mean I don't know how to tame the Lion"

"I might have a Honeybear at home, But I still know how to let the lion out of the cage"

"I might be a cat lady, But I can still be a bitch"

You have to ask yourself, who am I right now and who will I be in 6 months from now.  I am still working on mine, but what would yours be?  Take some time, don't rush, but share it with the rest of us.

The lesson learned:  A lot can change in 6 months, you better be ready for it!

Lessons Learned While Watching the Housewives

I know I am not alone when I say, I love the Real Housewives.  Whether they are in Atlanta, New York, New Jersey, Beverly Hills, Orange County, or my new favorite Potomac.  Some housewives inspire, some get you fired up.  But at the end of the day, you must admit, they keep you entertain. And if you look hard enough, you can even take away a lesson or two.

I have decided to take all the lessons I have learned and put them in one place.  Sometimes I use the lesson to look at myself and change things I don't like.  Sometimes I use it to inspire myself to go for something in my career that might be out of reach.  And sometimes I just use them to make myself feel better, because I know having all the drama that some of the wives have in their lives can't be good.

So if you love the housewives, and if you love improving your life.  Come on a journey with me.
